Because WINTER is right around the corner,

PLEASE KEEP THE ROADS CLEAR
SO SNOW AND ICE CAN BE CLEARED
WHEN NEEDED!

Thank you for your cooperation!

To members of the ShoreHaven Civic Association:

Because of current very dry conditions, fires have started spontaneously in

Dover, Wingdale and Pawling.

PLEASE DO NOT BURN!
A single spark can erupt into a catastrophe.

The fire risk warnings are everywhere on weather reports, on social media, etc.

Let's keep our community safe and wait until we get sufficient rain

to alleviate this risk.

Thank you for your cooperation!

SNOW REMOVAL PROPOSAL - BIDDERS NEEDED!

ShoreHaven Civic Association
Proposal for Snow Plowing

2024-2025 Season

ShoreHaven Civic Association is soliciting bids for snowplow
service for their private road system (approximately 1.5 miles in
Holmes, NY). Requirements include that all roadways be open by
6 AM, and replowing occurs after every 2 inches during the

The season will commence with the first snowfall and end with the
last snowfall of the season. Providers must have and submit a copy
of insurance to ShoreHaven Civic Association. If necessary, snow
removal or relocation is available at the cost of $xx amount per
hour, per piece of equipment. Bids are currently being accepted.

Please call Aaron Cioppa at (914) 393-4482.

Also mail bids to
ShoreHaven Civic Association P.O. Box 115 Holmes, NY 12531.

Dutchess County Soil & Water

has been volunteering their time to walk the Shorehaven properties to help map out our community so that we can submit them to an engineer for a drainage plan.

Maps of the roads and properties are required for any engineer to work up a drainage plan.  This is the first step in working towards tackling our drainage problems here at Whale Lake

There are a handful of properties that have swales or catch basins on them that DCS&W would like to access so that they can see the full path of the water as it drains from Route 292.  Those affected properties will be receiving a letter or email requesting information for DCS&W to do so.

Please be on the lookout for this correspondence and reply your approval as soon as possible.  The sooner we get this site-walk accomplished, the sooner we get our maps.  Thank you for your cooperation with this!

This is BIG PROGRESS!!!

Although there was a Sign-In Sheet, not everyone signed it so
we want to apologize if we have not mentioned you below.
Please let us know and we will send out a corrected version of this email.

Special Thanks to Key Members of the Dock Team
Matt Maneri and His Compact Track Loader
Matt and Lynn bought a ShoreHaven lakefront property so they no longer
use Beach One to dock their boats.
However, Matt has continued to donate his time, skill and equipment
trucking his machine from his business in Poughkeepsie to do so!

Mike Eveland and Mike Scovotti
Carpenters by trade, both Mikes donated their time, skill and knowledge
to assess what repairs were needed, order the supplies and have them delivered
so they could donate their work to make the repairs for us over the next few weeks.
Shorehaven paid for the supplies.

Workers and Contributors to the Dock and Cleanup Team

A huge effort went into raking and bagging about 25 large garbage bags of brush and debris.

Jackie Korr donated at least 20 huge biodegradable paper leaf bags for ecological health.

Some of these bags were carted away by Rodger Hess and perhaps others.

The rest (shown below) await removal by more kind volunteers who are able to help now.

Thank you to anyone who is willing to do this.

Here are the hard workers!

Treasurer Benn Albrecht, Dockmaster Carl Cinquemani,
Board Member Trish McLoughlin and Ned McLoughlin,
Vice President/Secretary Art Mulford,
Craig and Leah Wallace,

Scott Rice, Rodger and Diane Hess,
Vinnie Basirico, Vinnie Vanvoorhis,

Jackie Korr, Rick Wilson
Vincent Bello and Peter Jagich (for David Cooper)

A SPECIAL THANK YOU!
Billy Colbert donated a new Finger for the Docks
which he had John Hofweber deliver with the company truck.

Supporters
President Ron Cioppa and Giovanna Cioppa
Lisa Reda

Thank you for the Dunkin' Donuts & Coffee!

A Special Shout-Out to the kind person who brought them!
